In addition to the welding and fabrication that we were already doing, in the summer of 2000 I became interested in building a trike to take on a family vacation to Sturgis, S. Dakota. The trike, (pictured left) was finished and titled in 2001 to take that vacation. This trike was fabricated using a 1982 Postal Jeep as a donor vehicle and a 850 Suzuki front end. The Jeep motor for this particular year was a 2.5 AMC engine powering a Chrysler transmission. This trike was found to be very stable and fun to drive. We toured all around Sturgis and the surrounding area and had a great time. After returning home we began doing custom work with trikes as an added service but our main focus continues on providing a welding and fabrication service to our customers, fabricating to their needs.
In the winter and spring of 2007 my son and I built the silver trike pictured below. It was finished and licensed on June 4th, 2007. It's powered with a Chevy V6 4.3 engine with a Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. We custom made the headers and had them ceramic coated, silver. Currently it has a turbo 400 transmission and a Chevy S10 rear end. The rear end was installed using quad links with locked lower link arms which remove any apposing sway in turns (similar to the anti-sway bar). The front grill is a fiberglass replica of a 1932 Ford but shortened. The rear fiberglass body is somewhat a replica of a 1927 Ford but we added a design of our own for the fenders and shortened the trunk lid making room for the rear seat. The front fork uses an air bladder rather than the use of springs. This design of fork enhances stable steering and comfort to the ride. We are very pleased with the results of this build and have a lot of fun showing this trike.
